ScopeMobile application and website

By downloading, accessing, or using the Knowie mobile application and website, hereinafter the “Platform”, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our services.

01Adult responsibility

Accounts, subscriptions, and consents always belong to a responsible adult.

02Educational use

The licence allows Knowie to be used for personal, school, and educational purposes, never for commercial purposes.

03Transparent rules

Subscriptions, cancellations, intellectual property, and acceptable use are explained in this document.

1Nature of the service and users

Knowie is an educational technology (EdTech) platform designed to promote children's learning through gamification.

Adult users

Account creation, subscription management, and acceptance of these terms must be carried out exclusively by people over 18 years of age, such as parents, legal guardians, or teachers.

Minor users

Minors may use the Platform only under the supervision and explicit consent of their parent, legal guardian, or educational institution. The adult account holder is solely responsible for the minor's activity within the application.

2School and institutional accounts

Teachers and educational institutions using Knowie's B2B web dashboard and generating “Class Codes” agree that:

  • The teacher or institution guarantees that it has the necessary authorisation from school management and parents, where required by local law, to use Knowie as an educational classroom tool.
  • The teacher agrees not to enter unnecessary personally identifiable student data, such as full names, email addresses, or telephone numbers, and will prioritise initials, aliases, or first names.

3Subscriptions and payments (Knowie Pro)

Knowie operates under a Freemium model. Certain missions, leagues, and features are locked behind a paid subscription called Knowie Pro.

Billing and renewal

Monthly or annual subscriptions are charged in advance and renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle.

Managing cancellations

If a subscription is purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play Store, cancellation and payment-method management must be carried out in the Apple or Google settings. Web subscriptions processed through Stripe can be cancelled from the web user dashboard.

Refunds

Except where otherwise required by law, such as the EU 14-day right of withdrawal for web purchases of digital content that has not been consumed, payments are non-refundable. Refunds for mobile purchases are subject to Apple and Google policies.

4Intellectual property

All content available on Knowie, including source code, interface design, illustrations, avatars, educational mission texts, logos, and game mechanics, is the exclusive property of Samuel Hernández Martos or his licensors and is protected by intellectual and industrial property laws.

  • Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to use the application strictly for personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes.
  • Copying, reverse engineering, distributing, modifying, or creating derivative works without express written authorisation is strictly prohibited.

5Acceptable use

When using Knowie, you agree not to:

  • Use hacks, bots, scripts, or third-party software to modify progress, alter school rankings, or circumvent paywalls.
  • Share Knowie Pro account credentials with multiple families to avoid licence fees.
  • Place an unreasonable or disproportionate load on the Platform infrastructure, including denial-of-service attacks.
Any breach may result in the immediate suspension or deletion of the offending account without the right to a refund.

6Service availability and limitation of liability

We strive to keep Knowie operational and error-free, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”.

  • We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted or free from temporary technical errors caused by server maintenance or cloud-provider outages.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Samuel Hernández Martos will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from data loss, service interruption, or misuse of the Platform.

7Changes to the terms

We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Significant changes, especially those affecting prices or fundamental rights, will be notified by email or through a prominent notice within the application at least 15 days before they come into force.

Continued use of the Platform after that period constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

8Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Spain and European Union regulations.

For any dispute concerning the validity, performance, or interpretation of these terms, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of the city of Terrassa (Barcelona), expressly waiving any other jurisdiction that may apply, unless consumer law requires the courts of the user's place of residence.
